The MALBA Museum: a haven for Latin American art

The MALBA Museum (Museo de Arte Latinoamericano de Buenos Aires) was created by the Costantini Foundation in 2001 in order to preserve, collect, study and display Latin American art from the beggining of the XX century to our present day.
At the moment the Museum has over 400 art pieces from the most prestigious modern and contemporary artists of the region. The museum work also as a complex not only showcasing art, but also giving lectures about it and also as a cultural and educational center linked to desing, film and literature.

Since 2007 the museum has become a patromony of the city and in 2008 won the platinium KONEX award as the best cultural venue in the past 10 years. So without a doubt, you should pay a visit to this modern museum located only 15' away from our Hotel.

The building itself is a piece of art, one of his arquitects was the argentine Cesar Pelli (known for the design of the Petrona Towers in Kuala Lumpur among so many famous buildings under his creation) and it shows a "desconstructive" style, reknown for their sharp edges and the use of stone.
On its walls you will find the work of Diego Rivera, Botero, Antonio Berni, Xul Solar and the famous self portrait of Frida Kahlo among so many other artists.
