Centro Cultural Recoleta: art with a fun twist!

One of the most fun, artistic and colorful places we can find in Buenos Aire is in
Recoleta!
The Recoleta Cultural Center is located in one of the oldest buildings in all Buenos
Aires (next to the Cemetey and Basilica Nuestra Señora del Pilar), it was built almost 300 years ago! Inaugurated as a Cultural Center 40 years ago, it perfectly adapts the contemporary with the historical and it is visited by more than half a million people annually; mostly young people between 18 and 35 years old.

The fun art work outside the museum clashes with the old building in an exciting way

In this space all kinds of people coexist and freedom and participation are core values.
There are many activities related to the visual arts, music, dance, theater, literature, cinema and even Hip-Hop!
We can say the Cultural Center works as a magnet for all the current cultural movements in the city.

Currently, the Recoleta Cultural Center has over 27 exhibition rooms, a microcinema, an auditorium, an amphitheater used to hold varied activities annually, from art exhibitions to concerts and all kind of events. It works as a museum, shopping center and exhibition center. There are permanent rooms dedicated to teenagers, drawing, a study area, a recreation space, a bar and an Item store. In addition, it has a training area that offers courses and workshops and even a state-of-the-art music studio used for production and investigation.

Cool and fun art installations for all ages

A curious fact that about this place is that throughout history the building where the
Cultural Center is now located has functioned as an asylum, a hospital, a monastery,
as barracks and even as a nursing home!
