Hipodromo de Palermo: horse racing and gambling in one place!

Polo is the horseplay that Argentina is perhaps most renowned for, but horse racing has a long tradition here too.

If horses fill you with cheer, head for the Hipodromo Argentino (located in Palermo), the elegant race track in Argentina, to see argentine thoroughbreds in action. The locals call horse racing "turf" and it can be enjoyed all year round, viewed from the stately tarraces of Tribuna Oficial (oficial grandstand) which was built by French architect Fauré Dujarric in 1908.

The biggest event, the Gran Premio Nacional (national gran prix) is held every November, entry is free and raaces run from late afternoon and beyond!
Of course gambling is allowed so you can bet to your favorite horse if you feel like it!
There is also a casino, (in the city of Buenos Aires only slot machines are permited) so no Black Jack or Poker! but these machines can be fun if you feel like gambling and with Las Vegas nostalgia!

There also bars and a restaurant with views of the tracks, a sight to behold, especially at night when the track are lighten up!
