Palermo Soho and Palermo Hollywood: The coolest areas in town

One of the most popular and lively neighborhoods in Buenos Aires is probably
Palermo, specifically Palermo Viejo. The Palermo neighborhood, being the
largest in the city, is naturally divided into several sectors, each one with an
unofficial name and a particular aspect and characteristic that differentiates it.
“Palermo Viejo” or Old Palermo is named like that for its low houses from
yesteryear times and is made up of two micro-neighborhoods; Palermo Soho and
Palermo Hollywood.

A cool little street in the heart of Palermo Soho

Palermo Soho is one of the coolest, colorful and most vibrant places in the whole
city, where we can enjoy street art, clothing stores, craft fairs and numerous bars
and restaurants. This bohemian and youthful wooded neighborhood with cobbled
streets is the perfect place to visit on a Friday night and enjoy with friends or visit
during the day and take amazing pictures. It is delimited by Santa Fé, Scalabrini
Ortíz, Juan B. Justo and Córdoba avenues.

On the other hand we have Palermo Hollywood, characterized by its television
and film studios, its name referring to the district that is located in the city of Los
Angeles. As an attraction we can highlight its numerous restaurants and its varied
gastronomic offer. Food shops take a special dedication to the design and
decoration of their restaurants. Palermo Hollywood is usually attractive to many
young chefs who come to this neighborhood to open their restaurants. Another
interesting thing we can do in this neighborhood is to visit the Flea Market, located
at Av. Dorrego and Alvarez Thomas. This market has more than 150 stores where
we can find all kinds of handicrafts, furniture and collectibles.

One of the many bars at Palermo Hollywood

We highly recommend visiting Palermo, either during day or night time, there is always something fun to do and a cool restaurant/bar to visit. A great place to know not only locals but people from all over the globe, specially during Happy Hour or at night on weekends, where bars are open until late at night.
